Dave Carr is the lead vocalist and frontman of Max 80’s. Dave was born in New York but raised in Southern California. After discovering The Beatles at an early age Carr was fixated on singing and performing. In college Carr found the perfect outlet for his performing when he became lead vocalist with the band Acoustic Alibi. After college Carr performed out with singer/songwriter Ryan Goins before hooking back up with members of Acoustic Alibi to form The CarrTones. The band is based in the bay area with Carr rehearsing with the group over the internet. Carr has been in education for 24 years which is how he first met bassist Jeff White. “When Jeff asked if I was interested in forming a new musical project it seemed like a no brainer. We were both in bands, we are both in education and we both shared the same musical interests so I was immediately in.” Carr is in his second year as principal of LA Promise Charter Middle School.
